The Vermont Department of Health (VDH) is inviting local employers to adopt health-promoting strategies in the workplace through Worksite Wellness Mini Grants.

Employers can reach out to Valerie Valcour RN with the Morrisville District Health Office at [email protected] by Friday May 2nd to apply for funds to support worksite policies, systems or environmental changes to support health and wellness. Please see the mini-grant guidance document. All you need are the following to get started:

  • name and contact information of your workplace
  • wellness strategy you will use or an idea for a strategy
  • the employee policy or employee wellness enhancement this may impact

If you are a 3-4-50 Partner, thank you! If you are interested in becoming a partner, this is a great time to jump start your efforts. Both existing 3-4-50 Partners and future partners can use available funds from this mini grant to initiate or amplify worksite wellness. The Morrisville District Office of VDH is partnering with Healthy Lamoille Valley to get the word out about these Worksite Wellness Mini Grants. Not sure where to begin? Use this Worksite Wellness Toolkit to conduct an employee interest survey to gather priorities. Here are a few ideas:

  • Promote a family-friendly workplace
  • Use funds to purchase breastfeeding-friendly supplies or create a family-friendly space
  • Create worksite spaces that promote mental and physical health and nutrition
  • Purchase items for a Quiet Space or Yoga Space
  • Purchase a microwave so employees can warm up healthy food from home
  • Purchase items to support healthy snacking, such as a blender or items for a worksite garden

The Worksite Wellness Mini Grants can help employees meet 3-4-50: Prevent Chronic Disease goals and employers can create a worksite environments that supports wellness.
