Youth and Community Partners Raise Health Awareness

Student groups, Allied Health students, and community partners spread health awareness through activities and resources at the GMTCC Health Fair on May 24th. The middle, high school and tech center students who attended the event were engaged with a variety of table activities covering a range of health and wellness topics. Activities included Stop the Bleed, abdominal thrust simulations, sobriety test with impairment goggles, and resources for sexual health, mental health, substance recovery and much more!

Lamoille North Youth Coalition Students Co-facilitate Substance Awareness and Refusal Skills Workshops for 6th graders

This Spring, 11 Lamoille North Youth Coalition (LNYC) students worked with Healthy Lamoille Valley’s Youth Coordinator to learn, practice, and co-facilitate a two-part workshop on substance awareness and decision-making skills for over 120 6th grade students in the five Lamoille North elementary schools. National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 27th, from 10:00am – 2:00pm. This is a great opportunity to turn in your unwanted, unused, or expired medications. Find participating Take Back Day sites in Vermont at takebackday.dea.gov. This service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
