I’ve done some map and compass work over the years.  One lesson that I learned early was how a small miss-step now can sometimes mean missing your destination; or at least cause you to take a lot of extra steps to get back on track.  This risk can be eliminated by routinely taking your bearing (compass reading), checking the contours of the land, and consulting your map.

The start of a new year is kind of like that for me.  I’m not one for resolutions, but I do like to use this time to evaluate.  What was great in 2014?  What do we love doing that we were missed out on due to busy-ness?  Are we where we want to be? Are we in need of a total course change?

While change is often not easy, little adjustments can create big results. Make time to take your bearing…

Happy New Year!
